here is my ficus simple up right style...
i have trained this plant for five years in the training pot and it has faced very sever cuttings and pruning..

Really cute... I love the aerial roots. The foliage seems a little to high for this tree. Also note that the leaf size seems a little big for this tree.

It will look a lot more convincing if you let the tree grow a little bigger.

If you see the cut stem of the first picture, the height of the specimen is quite ok. When the new shoots/branches would mature, the proportion of the trunk height and branches would appear to be quite acceptable.

However, the main cause of concern is the health of the tree...... as it seems the leaves are infested with 'scales' which is very bad as the scales would eat up all the sap of the leaves.

As it is now spring season, my suggestion would be to remove all the leaves by defoliating..... and wait for new flush of bright green leaves!

and it is really recommended to encourage the shoots emerging from the base, however they do not include in the final design. they cause swelling at the base that enhances taper.
