hi.
i am new member here i want to know what is the meaning of BONSAI ?
and who did start this art please provide info. scratch

the meaning of bonsai is "tree in tray" or "plant in tray"
as you have seen most of bonsai are planted in the tray.
according to my knowledge China did start it but after that japan has adopted it and took it to the heights of Art.
please correct me if wrong.

there are lot of bonsai nurseries in the world, most of them sell their plants online,but you cant get them as some policies don't allow it.
the best way is that make your own bonsai with locally available plants and trees.
please read the forum care fully and keep in touch you will be able to create one of your after one month.

In general, Bonsai means Tree in a Pot. However, bonsai has a unique meaning for every individual because it is an 'art' (and a living art).

To start with, we don't 'create' bonsai (we all know who creates and grows living things), we enhance the image of the bonsai to make it look like a tree in nature. There is only so much you can do to a tree and for that reason it is best to follow the style of what the tree is already suggesting (or the style that species best grow in nature). Along with art, bonsai demands strong horticultural knowledge if you want to keep your trees healthy and strong. Learn about the species of your tree and how it should be cared for in your climate (this includes watering techniques, fertilizing, lighting, temperature, etc.).

To me, bonsai is the best hobby I have had because it soothes me when I am stressed. I particularly find pleasure when I am watering the trees. And most importantly in some unexpected way, this hobby brings me closer to nature and hence closer to my Creator.
