This is one of about 20 cuttings I grew about 16 or so years ago. They started of life as twigs with 3 leaves. When they were lifted they had only a few roots and they were quite thick, only a few fine roots.
Grown for 1 to 2 years to re-establish the fine roots around the trunk.
Stage 2 developing the lower 1st and 2nd branches, using a large flat plastic pot saucer and coarse soil. Crushed sifted brick and home made compost.
When I lift these trees in 2 or 3 years, I will still have a shallow root system.
Sageretia takes forever to trunk thicken.
