queries..

i am really new to bonsai concept ...and i wanna ask some questions to clear my mind..
i wanna ask why these trees remain small in size??? is it bonsai soil or some thing other....

if i start with anjeer (fig) branch what should i do..should i put this in a pot and water it till it start growing???

the small size is due to continues culture,cutting , pruning. soil is little different from ordinary soil but it does not effect the size of tree.

fig tree are very good for bonsai due to there hard culture.....just grow the fig and let it in the ground for few years.
