| First of all, congradulations on the great effort of establishing this forum and propagating this ages-old art in Pakistan. I have very recently developed interest in Bonsai and searching on Google brought me to this forum. I have read through the various posts and have visited Bonsai4me also. I need you advice about the following: 1. Suggestions for three species of plants I can use as a start? 2. Which common gardening tools can I use as a beginner? 3. Can I get the plants from my local nursery?
...Thank you. | |

1-ficus 2-juniper 3-jade 4-Cyprus (saroo) for tools...you need 1-horticulture knife 2-horticulture scissor 3-horticulture fork 4-wire cutter 5-wire and you can get plants for nursery and train them as bonsai....(all do this)

| Thank you Admin bhai. I read a bit more and have decided on Jade for now. I hope its a good choice for a beginner. And do I have to purchase all the tools right now or I can improvise and use some other general purpose tools for now? If I have to purchase the tools, where can I get them from in Rawalpindi?
Thank you once again. | |

| you can use other/alternative tools.. but i will advise you to use at least horticulture knife to cut the branches and roots.... other tools are your choice ,you can buy them when you find them... to buy tools please visit some horticulture store or hardware store . | |

| Juniper is called sanober in urdu. Ficus is very large family some are called bargad some injeer some are peepal and etc.
But these gurus are right, ficus is one of most frequent bonsais.
