Collected Spruce

I got this tree from someone who collected it from the mountains of Black Hills in S. Dakota in 2009. Here is the tree when I got it:



To give it more age and a more dramatic look, I focused on the smaller trunk and decided to jin the larger trunk.



There is still a lot of branch refinement before it looks more like a tree in nature. Here is the close-up of the jin:

nice tree Aman. its good looking tree, have you torched the tree to create Jin ?

Very light torching to highlight the wood grain with dark burns. Lime sulpher was applied later with a drop of black ink.

This tree has atleast another 3 years of refinement left before I will consider it showing.

its good but in my opinion if you wud jinned the thinner branch it would look much better.

to be honest wood carving on bonsai has bcome my passion and i have been working greatly on it....in this regard you should see graham potters videos....they are great for learning!
