The other nursery stock. have good trunk but growing tall. Again the same question can i save the upper cutting of the trunk before starting training of this plant. Do narangies make good bonsai? Suggest where to cut the trunk and what are the best times to do so ?

Pot this plant in your garden. I think it is a beuatiful garden tree.

But if you want to sacrifice this tree to create a bonsai, then do the following:

- Chop it an inch above the lowest foliage. Seal the cut with Petroleum Jelly; this will prevent the cut end from bleading.
- Repot the tree in the same pot, and cut around 50% of the roots. Try to keep the fibrous roots and cut the thicker ones.

Few people are daring enough to do the above. But if you are willing to learn, then go ahead... I dare you. The worst that will happen is that your tree will die, but that is part of the learning process.

Don't worry, I think it will live if you water it regularly, fertilize it, and replace some of the soil with something more draining. after repotting, put the tree in a partially shady place for a week.

- AH
