siliconhead Welcome,
jade is fun to make Bonsai. it will transform into bonsai very quickly but at the same time you need to cut/prune it regularly. Ficus are good option for starters, try to use small leaves Ficus, other options are Bougainvillea and Saroo.. they make very good lookin Bonsai.
best wishes

yes the normal ficus i mentioned last is the one with small leaves so hope it turns into a good bonsai along my jades, which are having special attention at the moment. am cutting them, pinching them, wired a few but all is kindda in experimental stages. lets hope i can learn and share

Siliconhead you are welcome.
have seen concave cutters at tool shops, usually carpenters use it to pull the iron nails. what you have to do is to sharp its edges. also Google bonsai tools in Pakistan, you will find whole set.
