Pak bonsai,

Nice Mame bonsai pics..... thanks for posting. I am sure many would feel inspired by these small gems to try out with native species.

It would be fun if all the members, if they have, would post pics of their Mame bonsai.

Shaukat

Majed,

You can encourage your members to try out with short thick stem cuttings (from large soil grown trees) with interesting bends and turns.
This would surely give the desired texture of the stem, giving an older look for your mame; and one can develop a fairly good shape in say about 3 years. I have done this while pruning the unwanted branches of Ficus rumphii and planted the 'interesting' cuttings immeiately. In a short span of time, the stems start to bud prducing new leaves but the stem looks older.

Give it a try, and you will get the feel of creating good mame and shohin bonsai.

Really?
Are you sure they will understand by "Karachi Booti"?
Because If I ask for "Cassula Ovata" so they show the first form of it which is just "Carsulla" and
Its different than "Carsulla Ovata" Or jade tree!

Do you know the name and places of Nurseries in Karachi for Carssula Ovata?

Lalazar Nursery should have it. It is next to what used to be Mideast Hospital, now a shopping mall.
