Below is my Dawn Redwood forest in training. I know that a lot of beginners focus on single tree training, but forest training is really not that hard.

Summer 2010:

Winter 2010:

This will take another 3 years to be a more convincing forest. Let me know if anyone has tried forest training, and feel free to post your forest pictures.

The trees range from 2 to 6 years of age. I am really not sure if they were grown from cutting or seed. I bought seedlings and designed a forest.

I was playing around with the forest design by moving the trees around. What do you guys think of this? I basically took the left most trees and brought them closer to the main grove.

Aman,

I liked your forest planting; nice composition.

On the re-placement of the left 2 trees, my personal opinion is to keep your original design (as per the first pic) which gives a nice aesthetic view with the space between the 2 groups.

At best you may add another tree to the 'left' group, to complement the overall style.
