Juniper First Attempt Empty
PostSubject: Juniper First Attempt   Juniper First Attempt EmptySat Dec 18, 2010 5:10 pm

I bought stock plant in December 2009 from nursery . It was initially about 3 feet tall.
I pruned about two thirds of it to get better idea of branch structure.

After trimming the unwanted branches I left it.

In early December 2010 I wired the plant to give it some shape. It is still in its orignal pot. You can see the results. Hope you like it. Any suggestions are welcome.

very good try farooq.its impressive.its informal upright style.
one suggestion !
transfer the plant in training pot and change the soil to give more boost to plant.you can do it right now or can wait for couple of years.

Farooq,

Very good attempt.

But be careful to wire the branches properly. The wiring just below the apex appears to be overlapping. This would affect the branch growth.... so pls try to avoid overlapping the wires.... as and wire each branch separately.

Shaukat

Salam Farooq,

You have a good eye for a traditional shape, which is a great start. The only problem is that this tree looks very 2-dimensional. The branches are placed either on the left or the right side of the tree. Nothing is angled backwards, or front.

Since you have wires on the branches, try experimenting by moving a couple branches a little forward and/or backwards to make the tree look more natural.

good attempt,
I think u have removed excessive foliage here. And it isn't necessary only to leave clumps at ends.
